WSA Fund Development Committee
The WSA Board established this Committee in early 2004 as an enlargement of the ad hoc Fund Development Committee. The first task of this new Committee was to determine if the WSA should conduct a fund raising effort to ensure the future of the Jenks Center building and its programs and activities. After review of the current financial situation and discussion with Board members and others, it became apparent that this was the right time to start to raise a significant amount of money to achieve these goals.
The Committee therefore initiated discussions with potential consultants, hired a consultant best suited to the needs of the WSA, and embarked on a feasibility study to find out if the citizens of Winchester would support such a large undertaking. The Committee’s role in the feasibility study is to provide historical and current information about the Jenks Center, the WSA, and the many volunteers and supporters, and to assess and report the findings and conclusions of the study. If it is decided that a Capital Campaign would be successful, the Committee will direct and participate in all facets of such campaign.
