WSA Tax Assistance Committee

This committee, under the joint sponsorship of AARP/IRS/WSA/COA provides free tax assistance to all people of low and moderate income, with special attention given to persons 65 years of age and older. Tax return preparation and e-filing is provided during appointments in February, March and April.

Each year the AARP tax volunteers are trained and recertified by the IRS. Tax information is strictly confidential in accordance with AARP/IRS policies and procedural safeguards. All tax returns are e-filed, generally providing federal refunds in two weeks and Massachusetts refunds in one week. A paper tax return copy is provided for the taxpayer’s personal records.

If you are interested in becoming an AARP tax volunteer, please leave your name and telephone number at the Jenks. Any person who has been preparing personal federal and Mass. returns by computer, has the basic skills for this position.
