America in the 1950s: A Decade of Rhythm, Rebellion & Reinvention

As swing music blasted from radios and dance halls, the Jitterbug energized dance floors and helped usher in the rise of a powerful new cultural force: the teenager. At the same time, women navigated societal expectations of domestic perfection even as the first signs of social change began to challenge those boundaries. To tie in this theme, the movie Grease will be shown at the Jenks on Friday, August 7, at 1pm.
