About the Event
With Covid-19 vaccines becoming available, we welcome back Dr. Jeff Drazen, as he reviews the science and public health approach to vaccination, using smallpox as an example. Learn about the various vaccines available or forthcoming for Covid-19 including the risk and benefit of vaccination. Dr. Drazen will also address the early indicators and what they tell us, including whether the vaccines have their intended effect. Dr. Drazen, MD, Editor-in-Chief of The New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM) from 2000 to 2019, currently holds the positions of Editor of the NEJM Group, senior physician at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Distinguished Parker B. Francis Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School, professor of physiology at the Harvard School of Public Health, and adjunct professor of medicine at the Boston University School of Medicine.
