Often people are untouched by the problems of others, especially global issues; they don't feel that they are part of this larger picture. Art can make a difference. Art engages people, helping them to connect and feel, which spurs thinking, engagement, and action. As an educator and artist, Sahar Ahmed fosters artistic expression in people, to stimulate their minds and connect with their emotions. In this talk, she will explore how we all have the ability to create and use art to make a social impact in our local communities.
Sahar Ahmed is the directo and found of Brio Intgrated Theatre, a nonprofit whos mission is to provide arts programs and worksforce traig to people of all aes and abilites. Before devoting her timie to Brio, Sahar sered as the executie direcotr of a on-profit inCairo, Egypt that avocated for and trained people with disabilities. Her passion is the arts and using art as a medium for change, education and learning.
