About the Event

Ever wonder how composers approach writing music? Join interviewer Andrew Celentano for an interesting discussion with guest Mark Kross. Pianist, composer, educator and bandleader. Mark recently moved to New York City after having been a vital part of the Boston jazz scene for well over thirty years. Mark has studied with Jaki Byard, George Russell, Fred Hersch, Joanne Brackeen, and Ezra Laderman, and he holds a Master of Music from the New England Conservatory of Music. Mark has released five CD’s with his band, The Mark Kross Five-Piece Trio. He is a co-founder of JazzWaHi, a resource for jazz education and performance in Northern Manhattan. Andrew Celentano, himself a local pianist and composer, interviews talented musicians in the Boston area, that compose and perform their own pieces. Register to obtain the Zoom link. Sponsored by a generous grant from The Cummings Foundation.
