About the Event

The Healthy Aging Workshop is a 7 week lecture series presented by Dr. Katie Wadland, Geriatric Clinical Specialist. You may participate in all or some of the lectures, please register for each lecture you will attend at www.jenkscenter.org Each week will focus on a new topic.  This week you will learn how growing older is too often associated with aches, pains, fatigue and chronic illness. However, there are choices we make, every day, that can either help you age successfully or add to its burden. This talk gives you a no-nonsense look at how we can choose healthy habits to encourage healthy aging. We will cover topics including nutrition, exercise and activity, prevention of falls, health literacy, mental health, and how to access community resources. Listeners will leave with a better understanding of how to better manage your chronic medical conditions, prevent and manage age-related decline, and access the help you need to help you age-in-place safely at home.
