About the Event

Sit back and enjoy an hour program of familiar and cherished holiday songs from the 1950s and 1960s. You’ll hear the fascinating stories behind It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas by Broadway composer Meredith Willson (The Music Man) and Willie Nelson’s Pretty Paper. Listen to hit songs like RockinAround the Christmas Tree (Brenda Lee), A Holly Jolly Christmas (Burl Ives) and Run Rudolph Run (Chuck Berry). Novelty songs like The Chipmunk Song, I’m Getting’ Nuttin’ for Christmas and I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus (which was used for a Saks Fifth Avenue advertising campaign). Get into the spirit of the season with these classic holiday favorites!

Sponsored by the John and Mary Murphy Foundation.
