About the Event
Movies can be a surprisingly effective way to understand the courtroom and the trial process. In the first of this two-part series, we'll examine memorable scenes from classic legal dramas, including My Cousin Vinny, Philadelphia, Liar, Liar, Class Action, The Accused, The Verdict, A Few Good Men, and To Kill a Mockingbird. Through these films, we'll explore the art of storytelling, the influence of cinema on law and society, and the enduring questions they raise about justice, fairness, race, crime, punishment, and the pursuit of truth.
Part 2 is currently scheduled for Tues, November 10 at 6pm. Please check the November schedule when it comes out to confirm that it has not changed.
Sponsored by the Cummings Foundation Grant.
