LIVESTREAM: Tufts University Opera Ensemble

Join us, as the Tufts University Opera Ensemble performs operatic scenes from two new chamber operas: The Nightingale and the Rose and The Happy Prince, composed by its Music Director, Thomas Stumpf and staged by Director Carol Mastrodomenico. The librettos are adapted from two of Oscar Wilde's exquisite fairy tales, which include sacrifices reflecting a genuine love for humanity. Staging involves the challenge of creating two very different worlds: a beautiful meadow complete with trees and animals (all of whom sing!); and a town square dominated by the golden statue of the Happy Prince, who comes alive at night when a Swallow visits him.
