Express yourself, have fun taking creative risks and celebrate happy accidents! Monotype printmaking reinforces all the elements of art: line, shape, color, texture and value. Over the four weeks of this class, students of all art backgrounds (novice to advanced) will learn this technique used by many artists throughout history, including Henri Matisse, William Blake and Edgar Degas.  Our teacher, Meg Steele Wingerath will instruct participants how to create a unique or mono (one) print by drawing and painting on a plate that is then printed on paper.  The sessions will include using additive and subtractive techniques along with trace monotypes, making additional images with stencils or varied objects, embellishing with chalk pastels, or any combination. Arrive ready to experiment, learn and have fun with other artists! Space limited. Class Dates: March 19, 26; April 2, 9. Cost for 4 classes: $40.
