About the Event
How did scribes write and copy biblical texts over the centuries? Is it really that hard to reproduce one piece of writing onto another scroll or codex? How common are scribal errors in the Old Testament? Do any of these mistakes change how the text was originally meant to be interpreted?
Join biblical scholar and archaeologist Nate Ramsayer for the fifth presentation in his seven-part course How the Bible Became a Book. In this lecture, Nate will guide the audience through the scribal process of copying books in ancient Israel, what tools they used, and just how many mistakes we find in biblical manuscripts. Feel free to join, even if you have missed other lectures!
