About the Event

Based on Historian Robert MacDougall’s research, this presentation will begin where his book "The Agitator and the Politician, William Lloyd Garrison, Abraham Lincoln and the Emancipation of the Slaves" left off. His program is the story of the struggle for black equality since the end of Reconstruction. The talk will conclude with an analysis of the difference between "equality" and "equity" and perhaps some discussion about which should be the goal. Register to obtain the Zoom link. Sponsored by a generous grant from The Cummings Foundation.
