About the Event

"Bob” hairstyles, bow lips, rolled-up stockings, and loose-fitting dresses describe the Flappers—the 1920’s generation of iconic independent American women.  This time period was marked by the presence of jazz music, risqué dance and the 19th Amendment, giving women the right to vote. Come learn about the Flappers, who embraced economic, political, and sexual freedom!  Includes film clips and music of the Harlem Renaissance!

Presented by Debra Block, Artistic Director and Creator, DGB Productions.

Sponsored by the Cummings Foundation Grant.
