About the Event

The Healthy Aging Workshop is a 7 week lecture series presented by Dr. Katie Wadland, Geriatric Clinical Specialist. You may partcipate in all or some of the lectures, please register for each lecture you will attend at www.jenkscenter.org   Each week will foucs on a new topic. This week you will learn how regular physical activity can reduce your chance of all-cause mortality by 33% and can significantly reduce your risk of diseases like diabetes, heart disease and cancer, yet only 23% of American adults perform enough regular exercise to be considered 'Active.' This presentation will give you the tools to go from Inactive to ACTIVE. During this talk, we review the many benefits of regular physical activity, the CDC recommendations for physical activity and address the fears and concerns that frequently prevent people from exercising regularly. You will leave with the information you need to get ACTIVE, safely and effectively, at any age.
