About the Event

Ever hear a bird call and wonder which species made that sound? Join Neil Hayward as he teaches us the tools to distinguish the specific calls of common birds in our area. He will examine why birds use song and the differences between contact calls, alarm calls, songs and flight calls. This presentation will open your eyes and ears to what is around you. Neil Hayward, an avid birdwatcher, is the President of the Brookline Bird Club in Massachusetts, board member of the American Birding Association, counsel member of the Nuttall Ornithological Club, bird sightings editor for the journal Bird Observer and author of Lost Among the Birds (Bloomsbury, June 2016). Register to obtain the Zoom link. Sponsored by a grant from the Cummings Foundation.
