About the Event
We welcome Jane Blair back for another enlightening and enjoyable presentation on Post-Impressionist art. Like a stone dropped into a calm pond, the ripples from the revolutionary Impressionist style of painting spread out, influencing a new generation. Artists like Van Gogh, Gauguin, Rousseau and Cezanne, among others, took a small step away from Impressionism and influenced whole new movements of art. Join us for a look at how other artists interpreted this new, personally expressive way of painting, and in turn influenced the course of art in the 20th century. Jane Blair, owner of Art Matters, earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Boston University and a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Illinois in Champaign/Urbana.
