HYBRID: Monthly Caregivers Connect Group: Thursday, August 24th: 11:00 AM: What is a patient advocate?? Whether you are caring for yourself, are a live- in/ full-time caregiver, or you manage care for someone from a distance, chances are you will be called at some point to act as that person’s advocate.While people may need advocacy in many areas, perhaps the most important area for advocacy is the health care system. This month our conversation will be centered around patient advocacy. We are delighted to have expert speaker Elizabeth Minassian who brings years of direct experience improving healthcare for the public through her work, with the Joint Commission, as a Registered Nurse and as the Jenks Patron Advocate. We will gain insight on how care partners can take a more active role in the process of healthcare.
