Top to Toe: A History of Clothing with Diane Taraz

 The Jenks Center welcomes Diane Taraz back for a look at the history of clothing. Clothing has both responded to social issues and driven cultural movements throughout history. In this presentation, she explores the hats, shoes, and everything in between, that have been an intrinsic part of cultures around the world. Diane delves into the fascinating origins of wool, cotton, and silk through songs about spinning, weaving, the sewing machine, millwork, bloomers and more. She does an extraordinary job weaving together history and performing arts through storytelling and beautiful song.
